About Webobo
A small, independent guide to getting a first website online without overspending.
Webobo helps people get a first website online without spending more than they need to. The guides and the planner on the home page are written for people who have never built a site before: hobbyists, volunteers running a club, freelancers who need a portfolio, and owners of small businesses who are tired of being findable only through a social media page.
What we cover
We write about the decisions that trip beginners up. Which kind of tool to use. Whether free hosting is good enough. How to pick and register a domain without getting caught by renewal prices. What pages a business site actually needs, and how to keep a small site fast, accessible and patched once it's live.
We name categories of tools, such as hosted website builders, WordPress-style content management systems and static site generators, and explain the trade-offs between them. We don't rank or endorse companies, and we don't take affiliate commissions, sponsorships or free accounts in exchange for coverage. When a guide mentions a specific organization, it's because that organization sets a standard or a rule, such as ICANN for domain names or the W3C for accessibility guidelines.
How the guides are written
The guides are written and maintained by the Webobo team. We check prices, rules and standards against primary sources where we can, and we phrase anything that changes often, like domain prices, as a range. If something in a guide is wrong or out of date, please tell us and we'll fix it.
The website planner runs entirely in your browser. It doesn't send your answers anywhere, and this site doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads. The privacy page has the details.
About this domain
Webobo was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. It has no connection to earlier owners of the webobo.biz domain or to any service that operated under this name before, and none of their accounts, sites or data exist here.
If you're looking for a site or account you had on an older service at this address, we can't help you recover it, because nothing from that time was carried over.
